You can as the license plate will be available any time after January 1, 2022, but the State of Kansas requests you wait until your renewal date.
In addition to your normal vehicle registration cost, you will be charged $55.50 for the Braden’s Hope plate. $50 goes to Braden’s Hope, while the $5.50 represents a one-time reflectorized plate fee of $0.50 and a $5.00 county service fee.
This is an annual fee. There may be additional county and state fees if this is a new title or as applicable.
You must go to the county treasurer’s office to apply for your Braden’s Hope license plate. Even if you renew your registration online, you will have to go to the county treasurer’s office in person to request the Braden’s Hope plate. Your plate will be mailed to you and you should receive it within 30 days.
You will need to fill out a Distinct License Plate authorization form. Each treasurer’s office should have the form, but one is attached to this email and/or available from Braden’s Hope if you want to fill it out in advance.
Note: You do not have to complete the bottom section of the form, nor do you need an authorizing signature from Braden’s Hope. That portion of the form will be completed by the county treasurer. Braden’s Hope has already signed an authorization to allow counties to sign that portion on its behalf acknowledging it is receiving the funds on Braden’s Hope’s behalf.
