Fountain of Hope + Hero Parade
Kicking Off Childhood Cancer Awareness Month
Every September, we come together as a community to shine a light on childhood cancer. We invite you to be part of one of Kansas City’s most meaningful and inspiring awareness events, the Fountain of Hope & Hero Parade.
On September 4th, our Hope Heroes will take center stage in a powerful celebration of hope and community.
In partnership with Baron BMW and escorted by the Kansas City Police Department, our heroes will participate in a special parade beginning at Union Station. The park is lined with supporters, families, and community partners, and the parade honors these incredible kids as they arrive at the Fountain at Mill Creek Park.
The celebration marks the official kickoff to Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Together, we will dye the fountain gold — the color of childhood cancer awareness — transforming one of Kansas City’s iconic fountains into a symbol of hope and progress.
This moment is more than just a tradition. It’s a statement.
It’s a reminder that:
- Every child deserves a future
- Every family deserves hope
- Every breakthrough begins with awareness and research
Why This Event Matters
Every two minutes, a child is diagnosed with cancer. Childhood cancer remains the leading cause of death by disease for children, yet research remains significantly underfunded. The Fountain of Hope & Hero Parade brings our community together to raise awareness, inspire action, and honor the children and families at the heart of this mission.
Join Us
Whether you’re cheering along the parade route, joining us at the fountain, or supporting from afar, your presence helps amplify awareness and bring hope to children fighting cancer.
Let’s come together as a community. Let’s honor our heroes. Let’s turn Kansas City gold.
